Kenny Omega has provided mo🐲re ♔details on the upcoming AEW video game.
Speaking with , the AEW World Champion shared that th🌄ey are in contact with their team at Yuke's nearly every day and that they have good chemistry. The game is drawing heavy inspiration for the Nintendo 64 classic, WWF No Mercy, with its director, Hideyuki “Geta” Iwashita, even aboard this project. Things have changed in the past twenty years, however, and Omega wants the experience to be representative of today's industry.
A firm release date has yet to be set for the game, but Omega beꦚlieves that they are getting closer to having an answer for their fans. They're still twe✨aking the engine and getting it just how they want. Luckily, they haven't suffered any major setbacks. Here is what he said:
“I wouldn’t say years [away] plural. I would say in a perfect world, give it about a year’s time.
We’re working really hard and we’re lucky to have two teams, one in America and one in Japan, working on this almost around the clock."
While fan♛s are clamouring to play the game, the development team wants a smooth launch, and to deliver a game that everyone can pick up, play, and have a good time.
“We do know that time is of the essence, we can’t let this sit around forever and people want a game like yesterday [laughs] so, we do want to release something as soon as we feel it’s ready and representative of what our brand should be and what will make fans happy.
Again, we don’t want a Street Fighter 5 launch, we don’t want a Cyberpunk launch. So we’re going to create something that will fun to play from day one, but it will be ever-evolving as our roster is."
In addition to their coꦐnsole game, AEW is also developing the Casino: Dou🦹ble or Nothing and Elite General Manager mobile games.
