Jeff Jarrett Wasn't Worried About WWF's Purchase Of WCW, Had New Yamaha Wave Runners Waiting For Him At Home

Jeff Jarrett had waves to catch.

The world of wrestling was in turmoil in early 2001, as WWE purchased a select amount of WCW assets just days after the company was shut down. WWE bought a number of contracts during this time, adding names like Booker T and DDP to the fold of their regu🐼lar roster.

At the time, Jarrett wasn't worried at all,𓄧 specifically because h𒁏e had waves to catch on his new Yahama Wave Runner (not a sponsor).

“97, 98 percent of the time after the last show of the loop, I always take the first flight home. I get home as early as possible because I want to maximize my stay-at-home before I have to go back out. That's just kind of always been the routine. I remember specifically going, ‘Why do I gotta rush home?’ I took a two or three afternoon flight back to Nashville and I knew that I had new Yamaha Wave Runners. I just knew that, alright, I’m gonna get to have me not just a day or two, I get to have a lot of lake time. Jacqueline, she wasn’t even a year old. Joslyn was four or five. I could putt her around but she didn’t want to stay out there long. Barney the dinosaur and Clifford, I’d get my episodes of Clifford and Barney, maybe a little Gullah Gullah Island with the kids, then I ate good and had a lot of lake time and the summer of no worries kicked off." Jarrett said on th𒐪e latest edition of his My World podcast.

Elsewhere in the podcast, Jarrett talked about possibly moving to the commentary desk after his in-ring career comes to an end. Learn more by clicking here.
