Nick Gage𝔉 talks to Fightful about a variety of topic♛s.
The reigning Game Change Wrestling Heavyweight Champion Nick Gage has made himself a staple on the independent wrestling scene deriving from his work in CZW, Big Japan P𓃲ro Wrestling and working the independents in his home-state of New Jersey. Nick Gage has been in the wrestling business since the late 90s and watched the independent scene evolve into what it has become and at Starrcast II in Las Vegas, Fightful was on hand and Nick Gage told us that he thinks the independent scene is great right now. He added that if anyone has anything negative to say about the state of the independent wrestling scene, he has two words for said individuals.
“I think independent wrestling is awesome right now. It’s on fire. Every show I do, fans are showing up in flocks and it’s awesome. You know, anywhere where you can work every weekend and make money is f*cking awesome. Independent wrestling is on fire right now and if anybody has anything bad to say about it, f*ck them. You know what I mean?” Gage expressed.
Nick Gage signed autographs and took photos at Starrcast II and competed at Fight Capitol Pro Wrestling and Suburban Fight Pro Wrestling while in Vegas. He was asked for his thoughts about everything that occurredꦰ that weekend and said he loves seeing wrestlers get work no matter whe🐈re it is and as far as AEW launching, he is for whatever helps the business thrive.
“I love this sh*t man. Listen, I love professional wrestling. It’s in my heart, it’s in my soul so when I see stuff like this [Starrcast/AEW], it’s just beautiful, and I go around the room and I see veterans who’ve been in the business for over 40 years and I grew up watching them and now I’m in the same business as them. It’s fuc*ing awesome, and then you got The Young Bucks and Cody doing their thing, which is awesome. Any work where the boys can get more work, I’m all for it man.” He said.
Nick Gage made national headlines this past November when he and David Arquette clashed at Joey Ja♎nela's L.A. Confidential show during WWE's Survivor Series weekend. Arquette lost a great deal of blood during that match b🍌ut continued on until the referee coun𒊎ted him down for a three count. Gage said that Arquette earned some respect that night.
“Oh yeah, he earned a little bit of respect. [He] lost a little bit when he just walked out of the ring and stuff but he’s not a wrestler." Gage continued, "Well, he’s trying to be a wrestler. [He’s] never done death matches before, so yeah, a little respect for stepping up and trying to do something like that but that’s what I do. I’m the best at it and I took it to him and I started laying the violence in on him and he started bugging out a little bit but it’s alright.”
