Both Samoa Joe and Cedric Alexander picked up wins in their respective first round matchups in the King of the Ring tournament, which began on Raw tonight.
In the first match to kick off the entire tournament, Joe defeated Cesaಞro after Cesaro nearly picked up the win following♐ an uppercut at the start of the match. As for Alexander, he defeated Sami Zayn to advance to the top eight of the tournament.

Joe will take on the winner of the Drew McIntyre vs. Ricochet match in the 𒁏quarterfinals while Alexander will face the winner of Baron Corbin vs. The Miz. The SmackDown side of the bracket will have the following matches:

- Chad Gable vs. Shelton Benjamin
- Apollo Crew vs. Andrade
