AAA has announced the passing of a wresꦗtling legend.
AAA Lucha Libre announced on December 20, 2024, that Rey Misterio Sr, the uncle of WWE Hꦫall of Famer Rey Mysterio, had passed away at the age of 66.
Misterio, whose real name was Miguel Ángel López Días, began his career in 1976 and although he officially retired in 2009, he had his last match in🐟 2023 at a global Lucha Libre event where he teamed with Aero Star and Mr. Iguana to defeat Hereje, Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Nightmare Azteca.

WWE's Rey Mysteri🦩o initially wrestled as Rey Mysterio Jr. when he received his uncle's blessing to take on the name. Of cours🍸e, when Rey went to WWE in 2002, he began wrestling, simply as "Rey Mysterio."
In 1995, Misterio Sr. captured WWA Tag Team Championship gold with his nephew. He also held titles with his son, El Hijo del Rey Misterio, and someone who is u🎃ndoubtedly another legendary luchador, El Dandy.
