As noted above, Luke Harper used to wear a very "unique" tank top to the ring. The tank top would become infamous with Harper's character as it would have a number of stains on it. Harper revealed that the the piece of clothing he wore to the ring was the same one that he did while he was a part of CHIKARA pro wrestling.

"So, if you’re a fan of indie wrestling at all, you can go back to… I think 2007, 2008, and you can see me wrestle in CHIKARA and you could see me wrestle in a tank top. And you could see me wrestle in a tank top that doesn’t look like the one I have in WWE, but it’s the same one, and people do not believe me. I had three tank tops, which I wore out, terribly. Fixed them many times. I had people rip them, then I swore at them and then would fix them, and their hanging in my closet now." Harper continued, "So back in CHIKARA, I use to have to wipe the floors with them; to get them to look the part. And eventually, after so many washes the color would just stick and I kept them. So, a lot of people don’t believe me, but its very…. my wife is not happy about it."

Nearing WrestleMania season last year, Harper was heavily involved in the WWE Championship storyline with Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton. After the storyline was over, Luke Harper was not featured on WWE TV often. A man who the "Backwoods Brawler" is familiar with and who also felt underutilized in the WWE was Erick Rowan. The former NXT Tag Team Champions would muscle up together to go speak to Vince McMahon and would ultimately end up putting together what they are now kn🐈own as; The Bludgeon Brothers.

"That came about with me and Rowan being frustrated with sitting backstage and meeting with Vince McMahon. And brainstorming to the point of… this was born out of that. And basically, when he told us that we could carry giant mallets around, we said 'sold'. Because for us, the name of the game is to get back on TV. We had both been kind of off for an extended period of time, both incredibly frustrated. We thought we were being wasted, we thought we have something to offer and this gives us the platform to show that."

During a recent episode of SmackDown Live, The Usos and The New Day confronted one another ahead of their SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles match at 'Fastlane'. Before any punches were thrown, the two lurkers of SmackDown's tag division, Harper and Rowan made their way down to the ring and silenced all noise that was being shouted prior to their entrance. To read more into that, head over to our results from the last SmackDown Live of February.
