Kevin Owens is still feeling the pain.
At the 'Money In The Bank' PPV, the main event of the show featured the men's Money In The Bank Ladder match that was dominated by the now-" Mr. Monster In The šBank" Braun Strowman.Ā One of the many competitorsĀ in the match who felt the wrath of StrowmanĀ was Kevin Owens. Owens and StrowmanĀ locked eyes on top oź§f a 20-foot ladder and StrowmanĀ grabbed a hold of K.O. and sent him straight down through a table which had two laptops laying on them.Ā
Owens discussed the feeling of being tossed off of the ladder the day after it happenedĀ which is a news publication based in Sioux Falls, South Dą¼ŗakoštaĀ where RAW will be held next week.
"I donāt know how well it can go when you get thrown off a 20-foot ladder. Iām definitely feeling it; it was an uneasy morning. Itās not part of the risks we take as wrestlers, but stuff like that doesnāt happen every night obviously, but when you got these ladder matches, thereās high stakes, and everybodyās trying to make a name for themselves. Everybody wants to get the MITB contract; that usually means at some point they will become champion. Thatās a big deal; thatās what everybody strives for." He said. "Iām a professional, and I get used to stuff like that, but I never experienced what I did last night. But Iāll be ready to go before you know it."
Prior to K.O. achieving success on both RAW and SmackDown, he was apartĀ of the NXT brand where he reigned as NXT Champion for 143 days. Owens stated that his time in NXT was a special experience and name-dropped a few of the wrestlers he worked š withĀ that made that experienceš a memorable one.
"NXT was a really special experience. I was only there for 10 months, a lot less time than most people spend there. I canāt say how much those 10 months there helped me as a performer. You almost feel like youāre in a family when youāre in NXT; thereās a real bond." He continued, "I havenāt been in NXT or the Performance Center for a long time, so I donāt know if that sense of belonging and family is still around. But I know back when I was there it was me, Finn and SamiĀ ZaynĀ and Neville, Big Cass and all those guys; Bayley, Sasha, Charlotte and Becky Lynch. We were all trying to take over the wrestling world through our own thing. We were trying to make NXT a "must see," something people would talk about for a long time after the shows were done. I think it just made for a special experience, and I really have great memories from my time there."
