At the 'All In' press conferenceĀ on May 13thwas in atš¼tendance and was able to speak with Tessa Blanchard to grab her thoughts on continuing to break down barriers in the industryĀ and the on-going evolution of women's wrestling.
"For me I thinkā¦ So when I started out in wrestling I didnāt tell my family about it and it was kind of like, wrestling is what got meā¦ got me to connect with my family again, and I believe mindset is everything." She said. "If you can change your mindset about something you can get through any circumstance, any situation and you can pull yourself through. So I pride myself on my mental strength, and with womenās wrestling I think that, weāre headed in such an awesome direction. Its such a good time for womenās wrestling and for me, when I went through hard times early on in life; even before I started wrestling, I think I couldāve benefited from having someone to look up to or look at them and say, āHey, they've been through somethingā and because they could make it maybe I can too." She continued,Ā "so for me, no matter what I did, I wanted to inspire someone or motivate someone or maybe even the next generation and it just so happens that God gave me wrestling to hopefully do that for someone. It just so happens that thatās my path. I think its kind of a cool thingā¦ I donāt know really where Iām going with this, but thatās what I want to do in wrestling, and for āAll Inā, I feel like theyāve, so far, got a really good group of girls. Some of the best in the world. Iāve shared the ring with all the ones announced so far Iāve shared the ring with and [they are] some of the most hard-hitting women. They have traveled all over the world, held titles all over the world, won tournaments all over the world. There are some really freakinā talented women and Iām just excited to make history with them."
