Leon Cage reflects on his rematch with Michael Oku at 🦂thౠe 229.
At RevPro Live In London on December 1st, Michael Oku met 17 year olಞd Leon Cage in the ring for a match that went over 20 minutes, and was widely praised by other wrestlers and fans following the culmination of the match. This was the pairs' second match a🧸fter their first happening in New Wave Wrestling earlier this year in October.
While , Leon reflecteღd on his rematch with Oku, and the rece𓄧ption he received from fellow wrestlers after the bout.
"Honestly, just crazy. So the first match we had, it was fairly similar in the thing of having a standing ovation, people banging the ring. It was a very surreal moment, especially for me. It was very much like living your dream as a wrestler. That's how it felt to me. And then, like very recent, that happened in middle of October. November, less than a month after, I did my RevPro debut against Will Caven, which is only going back two weeks now. So then we do, like, I have that. Then I get contacted about doing the 229 show. Fantastic. I will be there. But I just see the graphic up that I'm wrestling Michael Oku, and I'm like, oh God, this is crazy. There's a lot to live up to now. So I was very nervous. Like I said to a few of the guys in the back, like once I came back, I said like, I felt sick nervous. But I was just trying not to show it. I was, like, nervous. But I did feel very, like, to the point where I was, like... I could feel it in my throat, nervous. We go out there, have the match, and I'm just sort of, like, confused, to be honest with you. Just like, what's going on? Then, obviously, the match goes fantastically. I couldn't have wanted it any other way. Any other way. Then I come back, and everyone is so nice, greeting me, like, clapping me, and it was just a fantastic atmosphere, to be honest with you. Very, very fantastic atmosphere. I'm so lucky to have that. I'm so lucky to have that, and I am very, very grateful for it."
