Exclusive: Pentagon Jr.: Impact Is Doing Better Because Professionals Are Running It

Since makin♔g his Impact Wrestling debut earlier this year, Pentagon Jr. won the Impact World Championship and is deeply entrenched in a feud that puts Pentagon's mask on the line on one of the biggest shows for the company𝄹 in 2018. 

The Mexican luchador spoke with Fightful on his time with Impact and said he enjoys working for the company, giving credit to Impact Wrestling Co-Executive Vice President Scott D'Amore for helping stabilize Impact and put it in the right direction. Pentagon also credited Sonjay Dutt and Konnan for their behind-the-scenes work and making the company one that is worth wrestling, helping erase the company's s♛omewhat negative reputation from past regimes.

"Honestly, I don’t know about any of the past history of Impact, but ever since I arrived to work in Impact, I’ve had help from Scott D’Amore, Konnan, Sonjay [Dutt] and all the people that are working outside the ring, behind the scenes... I think when you have professionals handling this kind of stuff, you start to see some results. We saw those results in Lucha Underground with our writer [Chris DeJoseph] and his team. Now in Impact, we’re seeing that with Scott D’Amore, Konnan, Sonjay Dutt, all those guys. I think they each done a tremendous job and ever since I arrive in Impact, the truth is, I’ve seen important growth within the company and I think we’re going to reach even higher levels of success. Every time, we see new wrestlers come into the roster and leave their mark and contributions and I consider myself one of those wrestlers that is coming in to contribute to the overall brand," Pentagon said. 

Pentagon, who debuted with Impact Wrestling on a special "Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground" event at WrestleCon earlier this year, said he still isn't signed to Impact and instead only working certain dat🧸es, but added that he loves wrestling for Impact and would continue wrestle for them for however long that t𒆙he fans want him to wrestle there.

"I’ll stay in Impact so long as the fans want me to stay here. The fans are the ones in charge and decide that. If they keep wanting me to work there, then I’ll gladly keep working for Impact," Pentagon said.

Pentagon ended up winning the Impact World Championship shortly after his debut for the company and no🌜w is in a marquee feud against Sami Callihan with the two fighting in a hair vs. mask match at Impac💃t's Slammiversary show.
