Bret Hart Said He Believes Shawn Michaels Feared For His Life Following Montreal Screwjob

Although Bret Hart was the victim of the Montreal Screwjob, he believed that Shawn Michaels feared for his life.

Appearing on the most recent edition of Steve Austin’s “Broken Skull Sessions” on the WWE Network, 🅺Hart spoke at length over the Montreal Screwjob, the moment where he was screwed out of the WWF Championship in a match against Michaels at the 1997 Survivor Series. Hart talked about what happened when he went to the locker room and noticed Michaels changing in Hart😼’s dressing room, which is something that never happens.

Hart said Michaels tried to plead with him and insist that he didn’t have anyt🏅hing to do with the Scre😼wjob. Hart would then say that he was more calm at that point, knowing that what’s done is done and there isn’t much that he could do anything about the situation.

“What I think happened, I remember Taker and a few other guys in the dressing room at that time. I remember Taker kicking a big garbage can over and a few guys were throwing stuff. I come back to my dressing room. Shawn’s changing there in my dressing room, which is so strange because [he never changes there]. I remember opening up the door to my dressing room and I see him changing. He never changes in my room and suddenly, he’s here in my dressing room and I don’t know how that happened. Shawn then goes, ‘I swear to God, I had nothing to do with this,’ and I think Shawn was scared for his life. Once something like that happens, you can only ever get so mad. I calmed down, I was almost in a jokey kind of mood, so it’s done. There’s nothing I can do about it. All I could do is go on a plane tomorrow, go home and lick my wounds of being made a fool,” Hart said.
