Bret Hart doesn't have fond memories ofâ hisêŠĄ run in World Championship Wrestling, and blames it all on one person in particular.
Hart recently was interviewed on ' Wrestling Podcast. He blasted Eric Bischoff on accusations that heê§ didn't give it his all during his run iêŠn WCW, saying that instead Bischoff had opposite of having a midas touch.
âIâve heard his quote which is why I get pretty hostile about [Eric Bischoff], about me coming to WCW as a broken toy who didnât have the same fire" he told Roberts. "I could strangle him when I hear that, that is so not true, I was on fire. I wanted to take the world on, I wanted to take that whole compan, I wanted to kick Vince right in the teeth. Give me Booker T, give me [Chris] Benoit, but he was such an idiot. I say all that right to his face if he was here."Â
He also blamed Bischoff for WWE's eventual acquisition of WCW, which led them towards effectively establishđ»ing a monopoly on the pro wrestling scene in North America.
"Look at wrestling today" he continued. "Itâs a monopoly, so the wrestlers themselves have no leverage of any kind. They canât say 'Oh, Iâll go to WCW'. It was so much better for the wrestlers. They had a bargaining table. Today? No, and thatâs all Eric Bischoffâs fault, he killed the wrestling business, he was the worst.â
Bret Harât's run in WCW ended in 2000 when a sđ„tiff superkick from Bill Goldberg effectively ended his career.Â
