Styles retained his United States title against Kevin Owens in front of the Osaka crowd in a rematch from their SummerSlam U.S. title match.

For those that aren't aware, after Styles left TNA in 2013, he spent a few years in New Japan Pro Wrestling where he was the leader of the Bullet Club until January 2016. Styles won New Japan's top pri🍌ze, the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, twice during his tꦑime with NJPW. Styles and Bullet Club co-founders Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows left the Japanese promotion for WWE.

Once Stylesꦇ, Gallows and Anderson wereꦬ in WWE, they briefly formed a Bullet Club-esque stable called The Club where they would wear ring gear similar to their Bullet Club gear.
