Stephanie McMahon says the women's evo⭕lution started because the women were given opportunit𝄹ies.
In an interview on , Stephanie McMahon was asked about the "Women's Evolution" in WWE. McMahon has been a prominent figure in the evolution by being the on-screen voice for the change in dynamic on the shows. In December, McMahon stood in the ring with many of WWE's women wrestlers and announced the 🌜first ever women's Royal Rumble match which is a memory McMahon said will last.
"Announcing the first ever Women's Royal Rumble was one of my most memorable moments of Monday Night Raw," said McMahon. "To have the women's evolution happening, in of itself, is long overdue in my estimation. It's something I couldn't be more proud of. And I think it's happening for a number of reasons," said McMahon.
In 2015, the women in NXT were starting to have lo𝓀nger matches with more developed stories. McMahon says her husband Triple H began that process but the fans recognized it and wanted more.
"Yes there is a cultural fervor for women right now, women in entertainment, women in executive positions, women in sports. But this movement really started to happen before that or around the same time as the beginning of that. One of the reasons is because of my husband (Triple H) as an executive in charge of our talent development really started recruiting elite athletes from all over the world. He started training the women same as the men. He started giving them the same match time, the same opportunities," said McMahon."This ground swell started at NXT where our fans started chanting 'this is wrestling' and 'women's wrestling' because when these women were given the opportunity they were absolutely stealing the show," she added.
McMahon also discussed the ꧙"Give Divas A Chance" hashtag which got her attention and the importance of Sasha Banks versus Bayley at NXT Takeover Brooklyn. Also during the interview, McMahon discussed her experience working in different parts of WWE her whole life, working for her father,ꦫ and when she knew she wanted to be involved with WWE.
