Longtime UFC veteran Roy Nelson recently signed with Bellator MMA, ending a seven plus year run with the UFC.
When it âcame down to it, theđ° fighter signed with Bellator MMA due to the quality of life it brings.
âYeah, I think itâs just one of those things â whatâs best for my family, not whatâs best for everybody else,â he said on .
Nelson doesnât have an opponent yet for his promotionaêŠl debuà”©t, but he is expected to debut by the end of the year.
Former Bellator MMA Heavyweight Champion Alexander Volkov was Nđelsonâs last opponent during his UFC tenure, Nelson came up short in that fight and the heavyweight feels the decision should have gone the other way.
âNo, there was a lot of stuff that happened during that fight and then fight camp and stuff, so for me it was just I wanted a fight and Volkov didnât want to fight. Itâs just kind of one of those things,â he said. âI donât know how it worked out at home, but in the arena there, everybody knows who actually won the fight. Because itâs a fight. If weâre going from the sport aspect it was, you know, tag. Because if I donât mind getting hit from your punches, itâs like getting hit by you sister, so who cares.â
âBig Countryâ is just one of many high profile signings that Bellator MMA has made in recent months, with other notable signings include Ryan Bader, Rory MacDonald, Valerie Letourneau and others.
