TRIGGER WARNING - RAPE
Conor McGregor has been found civil﷽ly liable of sexual assault in a civil case brought forward by Nikita Hand.
McGregor has been ordered to pay €248,603.60 ($258,507.00) in ✱damages. No exe꧅mplary or aggravated damages.
The jury at the 🤡High Court in Dublin had been deliberating since Thursday afternoon. They had deliberated for ꩲsix hours and ten minutes. The case opened on November 5th.
Hand alleged that McGregor and Jaℱmes Laurence sexually assaulted her in 2018. Laurence was found not guilty.
He “would not take no for an answer," ꦍHand told the jury. McGregor had denied her claim and told the jury the♏y had “athletic” and “fully-consensual sex."
A doctor who examined Ms. Hand in the Rotunda hosౠpital sexual assault unit the day after the alleged assault had said hers was one of the worst cases he had seen.
Lawrence claimed in his evidence the🧸y had consensual sex twice. Ms. Hand said she had no memory of that and describedꦚ it as “a made-up story."
McGregor issued the following statem🎶ent, saying he will appeal:
I will be appealing today's decision. The judge's instruction and the modest award given was for assault, not for aggravated or exemplary d♐amages. I am disappointed that the jury did not hear all the evidence that the DPP reviewed. I am with my family now, focused on my future.…
