Sam Alvey has been pulled from the upcoming UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo card, as he was sꦰcheduled to face former UFC Light Heᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚavyweight Champion Mauricio Rua in the co-main event.
first reported the news of Alvey’s withdrawal, but a reason was not given a꧃s to why the fighter is off the event. Rua is expected to remain on the card at this time, ꦦas UFC officials are seeking a replacement for him to fight.
Rua (26-11-0) has won four of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Tyson Pedro, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Corey Anderson and Gian Villante. Rua is a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, defeating Lyoto Machida by first round knockout at UFC 113 to claim the gold. Rua has 🎃picked up twenty six wins as a professional MMA fighter and twenty one of them came by way of KO/TKO.
