Heavyweight fighter Mark Hunt was pulled from last m🌠onth’s UFC Fight Night Sydney card due to “health concerns” from the UFC.
The fighter has since flown to theꦉ Lou Ruvo Center in Las Vegas to have a plethora of tests run and Hunt has been cleared to return to action.
“We’ve just had a conference call with the doctors in the States, who gave us the good news,” Hunt’s manager Zen Ginnen told . “So it’s all looking positive. The doctor said Mark scored well above average and that he’s good to compete. So they’ll ring the UFC now and let them know. We’re just waiting on the UFC to clear him.”
Concerns arose a few months back after Hunt admitted in a self written piece to Player’s Voice ou🎐t of Australia that he has been suffering from symptoms of CTE.
Now that the fighter has been cleared for action, the first order of business is a rematch with former UFC Heav🧸yweight Cha💖mpion Fabricio Werdum.
“So we would love for Fabricio to be Mark’s opponent in Perth,’’ Ginnen said. “We think Francis Ngannou is next in line for a title fight. So we’d like to go up against Fabricio and hopefully be in line for a title shot at the back end of 2018.”
Prior to being flown o𒅌ut to Laಞs Vegas, the heavyweight fighter had been seen and cleared by two different specialists in his native Australia.
