Former two div𝔍ision UFC champion Conor McGregor recently mocked UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov’s wife, saying Nurmagomedov married a “towel.”
An enraged Nurmagomedov has now responded to 🅠McGregor and has done so via Twitter:

McGregor,, which McGregor referre💝d to as a “plot twist.”
The increasingly personal battle between Nurmagomedov and McGregor has possibly gone too far now in UFC President Dana White’s eyes, as he issued the following statemen🅺t ♒to on the matter:
“I am aware of the recent social media exchange between Khabib Nu❀rmagomedov and Conor McGregor. The ongoing situation has es🐻calated to a level that is not acceptable. As such, we are taking the necessary steps to reach out to both athlete camps, and this situation is being addressed by all parties internally.”
There is n♏o word yet at this time as to what the “necessary steps” are that the UFC will move forward with.
Nurmagomedov and McGregor have been embroiled in a personal feud for quite awhile now, with Nurmagomedov scoring a fourth round submission win over McGregor at UFC 229. The duo a🅰re also in the midst of serving suspensions related to the UFC 229 post-fight brawl, with McGregor’s suspension ending this𒐪 month and Nurmagomedov’s ending later thi🐻s summer.
