One of the more highly anticipated fights for the upcoming UFC 217 card is 🐓pitting Jorge Masvidal up against Stephen Tho♑mpson.
Masvid🐽al had ꦚbeen calling Thompson out for a while now and the fi🦋ghter is actually shocked that “Wonderboy” signed the contr🍸act.
“It’s no diss to Thompson, but this has happened previous to the (Donald Cerrone) bout – it happened like four times where I had a signed bout agreement with a certain fighter, and that fight didn’t materialize,” Masvidal told . “So I don’t believe it until I’m in the cage.”
Thompson hasn’t fought since a loss to UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley at UFC 209, while Masvidal recently came up short against Demian Maia at UFC 211.
Masvidal knows the loss a☂gainst Maia set him back a little bit, but he knows he will get his hands on him again in the future.
“I wasn’t 100 percent myself that day,” Masvidal said. “I was 100 percent injury-free, but just in certain movements I did, I could have done them better. That’s the only thing I’m regretting. We’re going to have a rematch, me and Maia, one way or the other.”
UFC 217 takes place on Saturday, November 4 from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York with Michael Bisping and Georges St. Pierre headlining. Fightfu𝄹l is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
