The war of words between two of combat sports' loudest continues, as undefeated and retired boxer Floyd Mayweather says that ꦇConor McGregor doesn't actually want to fight him.
Mayweather told that despite McGregor saying otherwise, the UFC Lightweight Championship isn't interested in competing. Mayweather also noted that he went directly to McGregor's boss, presumably UFC President Dana White. Mayweather also thre💞atened to slap McGregor.
“I’ma tell you like this, he’s blowing smoke up everybody’s ass. He don’t really want to fight because I went to his boss. He don’t really want to fight. He’s just doing that to keep his name alive, you know what I’m saying, to stay relevant. He don’t really want to fight. He’s doing that building his followers, but he’s smart. I don’t give a (expletive) what night it was, I ain’t never taking no L. I’m (expletive) McGregor up too. Punk-(expletive) McGregor. I’m gonna slap McGregor. I’m gonna slap the (expletive) out of McGregor when I see him," said Mayweather.
Mayweather admitted earlier this year to starting the rumors of a potential fight with McGregor, but McGregor stated that he'd either want it to be an MMA fight or a guaranteed purse of $100 million. McGregor obtained a California boxing license last month, but Mayweather state𒆙d that he doesn't compete in California.
McGregor is currently taking some time off whi🗹le awaiting the birth of his first child.
