UFC Prâesident Dana White has been dealing with the good and bad from fighterê©”s since he came to the UFC well over a decade ago.
According to White, the UFC Lightweight Champion in Conor McGregor wasnât too fond of Tony Ferguson refusing to fight late repđŻlacement MichađŽel Johnson at UFC 209.
âAfter this shit went down with Tony and Khabib, Conor texts me and says, âI canât believe youâre going to fâ-ing pay that bum Tony Ferguson one dollar," White said to . "You shouldnât pay him a fâ-ing dime. He was there, made weight and you lined up a fight for him with Michael Johnson after Khabib fell out and didnât make weight, and he turned it down. Fâ-ing bum.â"
Ferguson was originally set to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov for an interim lightweight title at UFC 209, but Nurmagomedov pulled out fo the fight due to issues with his weight cut.
White says in the end, the comments from the champion are sà”Čimply Conor being Conor.
"Thatâs Conorâs mentality in that he should've taken that fight against Michael Johnson. Thatâs what Conor said to me and thatâs one of the many things that I love about Conor McGregor. And he isnât just talking, because Iâve stood in his living room, looking at him telling him that his opponent fell out and he doesnât give a shit,â says White.
White is going to be seen next at UFC 212, whicđh takes plêŠace on Saturday, June 3.
