Rashad Evans' middleweight debu💜t will ha🎉ve to wait.
ESPN's Brett Okamoto revealed Tuesday that UFC President Dana White inform꧃ed him the planned Rashad Evans vs. Tim Kennedy fight has been pulled from UFC 205 due to issues with Rashad's medicals. The fight was set to be the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion's first fight at 185 pounds.
Evans (19-5-1) was the winner of The Ultimate Fighter season 2, and latꦦer captured the 205 pound crown. He's been on a rough patch of late, winning only twice since February 2012, and going 2-4 in his las💃t six. Evans' only victory over a current UFC fighter is his 2007 split decision win against Michael Bisping.
This seems particularly heartbreaking 💞for his planned opponent, Tim Kennedy. After over two years out of the cage, Kennedy was just days away from making his return. Kennedy last dropped a controversial fight to top middleweight contender Yoel Romero at UFC 178, which saw delays that could have led to Romero gaining traction in the fight.
There's🅰 no word on if a replacement opponent will be named. UFC 205 takes place this Sa𒀰turday from Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.
