The Chos🎐en Bros appeared poised to take over Japan, but not so, says Matt Riddle.
Former UFC fig🎃hter-turned pro wrestler Matt Riddle and sometimes friend, sometimes for Jeff Cobb seemed setvto participate in this year's New Japan꧃ Pro Wrestling G1 Tag League tournament. Matt Riddle tells us that he's not booked for the tour.
Riddle spoke with Fightful recently, where he addressed a conversation he was seen having with Tige🍷r Hattori. Thus far he's no-selling the notion that he knows he's in the tourney.
"It's not 100 percent, but it's a possibility. It cou༒ld happen," Ridꦫdle told Fightful managing editor Sean Ross Sapp on the podcast.
While Riddle did not confirm if he would be competing for NJPW, he did say the talk with Hattori was very positive and that the Japan꧟ese promotion likes what they see in the EVOLVE star.
"It was broken English, but I don't think I can get into great detail. All I'm going to say is t🥂hat it was all positive, all very positive. They like my look, my style and things were positive for sure," said Riddle.
The tournament is scheduled to run from November 1🎃8 through December 11. Cobb and Riddle are undefeated in PWG as a duo, going 5-🍌0. They recently experienced their first loss together as a team at last month's EVOLVE show to Chris Dickinson and Jaka. No word on who Cobb will team with.
