JimiĀ Mą²anuwa isĀ focused on championship, not Jon Jones.Ā
Saturāday, ManuwaĀ defeated Corey Anderson with a first round knockout. The fight was in Manuwa'sĀ hometown of London for UFC Fight Night 107, where he was greeted with a hero'. At the post-fight , he was asked about who he wants to fight at the top of the division. He told the reporters he is focused on a championship opportunityĀ against either Daniel CormierĀ or Anthony Johnson and not the returning former champion Jones.Ā
āIām not interested in Jon Jones. Jon Jones takes steroids, and heās been banned for steroids and that. Before, I was a big fan of Jon and the things heās done in the octagon and everything. But heās been suspended for a year or something because heās had issues before. Heās a great fighter,Ā I respect him. But heās been done for steroids, and that taints everything that heās done. So Iām not really interested. When he comes back, Iāll fight him. No problem. But Iām focused on the belt right now, and thatās going to beĀ the winner of DC and Rumble Johnson,ā said Manuwa
Johnson and CormierĀ will fight for the UFC Light Heavyweight ChampionshipĀ at UFC 210 on April 8th. ManuwaĀ would reā¤iterate he would not reject a fight withĀ Jones, if not given the championship bout next.Ā
"Listen, I don't turn down anybody, I'm not scared of anybody. Everyone bleeds and everyone feels pain," said Manuwa. "Everyone feels pain and everyone bleeds the same, unless you're taking steroids. That's what I've gotĀ aĀ problem with, it is what it is. I'll fight Jon Jones," added Manuwa.Ā
Maš§nuwa said he will be meeting with Dana White soon to decide his next fight. Jones will be eligible to fight in July, Manuwa saidĀ his next fight might be booked by then.Ā
