Jack Swagger says he is taking mixed-marital-arts seriously and š²wants to fight "real fighters."
Swagger has been out of WWE since March and has wrestled at a handful of independent promotions since his release. On an episode of Fightful Wrestling's podcast , Jack Swagger was asked about any future in a mixed-martial-arts career. He has talked about fighting before but during this interview Swagger saidš² he is currently training for a potential mixed-maš»rtial-arts debut.
"As of now, nothing is confirmed but I am definitely training full-on as if I were signed to one of the companies. I'm taking it very seriously because it is something very serious and kind of keeping close to the vest until there's something to announce," said Swagger.
Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp ź¦asked Swagger about potentially facing fellow WWE alumnus Alberto El Patron in a mixed-martial-arts bout. Swagger sšaid he wants to fight the real competition.
"Do you think...well Alberto already has the MMA background...Do you think two wrestlers crossing over to MMA world, do you think that would be a draw? Would you rather see them go up against an MMA guy?" said Swagger. "I think two pro wrestlers going in there, it would be better if they fought real fighters or true MMA guys," he later added.
Also during the interview, Swaggeā±r discussed his recruitment process to WWE and the time he spent in three different developmental promotions on his way to WWE.
