Curtis Blaydes competed in one of two heavyweight fights at UFC Fight Night 104, in his heavyweight fight, Blꦍaydes defeated Adam Milstead by TKO after Milstead suffered a knee injury.
While Blaydes was happy to get his second win in the UFC, he’s not happy with th🗹e method in which he got it.
“It takes me back to when I was a wrestler in high school,” Blaydes explained to . “I won a match like that. The guy messed up his knee, and I felt bad because that could be me. I don’t want to lose like that either. I don’t want to lose because of an injury. That’s how I lost my first (UFC) fight, because my eye was swollen. That’s not how you want to lose a fight, because of an injury, so I feel for him.”
Blaydes' only defeat in the UFC came to undefeated heavyweight Francis Ngannou in his UFC debut,🧔 he has won two stra🐠ight fights since.
The big✅gest change Blaydes has made to his professional MMA career is the way he trains, which started with a move to Colo🎀rado.
“Training at elevation, like I said my last fight, it really pays off,” Blaydes said. “When I got down here at like 88 feet above sea level, I could have done that for five rounds – and that was the plan: just take him down and hold him down. Really, I just want to think my coaches at Team Elevation. Without them and the guys down at MusclePharm, this wouldn’t happen like this. I wouldn’t have the cardio, and I wouldn’t have the help to get this ‘W’ the way I did, so I just want to thank them and all the guys down at Muscle Pharm.”
Blaydes signed with the UFC in 2016,🌞 prior to that sig💞ning, his biggest win came over Bellator MMA veteran Lorenzo Hood at Xtreme Fighting Organization 51.
