Welterweight fighter Colby Covington has made some enemies as of late in the formĀ of UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley and the entire country of Brazil.
The controversial fighter is now adding a new tarš³get into his sights in former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. Covington is already making one request of his newfound rival -- to cheat on his wifše again.
"Iām saying truths, Iām saying facts. Iām just speaking my mind. I didnāt know I wasnāt allowed to speak my mind in this world. I think I know him more than most people since I lived with him for two years. The guyās a fake - his little f**king baby-faced tweets to Georges St-Pierre, it just got under my skin. Heās just trying to act like a saint, āOh, Iām praying for you.ā Shut up, man. Go do some more coke. Go cheat on your wife some more. Youāre a piece of shit dirtbag,ā Covington said on .
That tweet that Covington is referring to is the following that Jones issued to new UFC Middleweight Champion Georges St. Pierre just before UFC 217:
Ā
Hey you've always been one of my biggest inspirations. Show the world how great you can šbe tonight. Praying for you
ā Jon Bones Jones (@JonnyBones)
Covington and Jones were also roommates at Iowa Central Community College many years baāck, but even then the welterweight wasnāt too fond of the futuą¹re champion.
āWe were cool the first couple of months we lived together but he was difficult as shit to live with. The guy was dirty, he stunk, he didnāt shower. The guy was just a mess. He was getting into partying and all that bad stuff back then. He was just going down the wrong path but he always tried to act like a saint, āOh, Iām into religion, Iām all about God,ā this and that. Heās just fooling all the fans. He needs to be exposed for the real person that he is because he aināt this saint and good person like he tries to act like he is,ā says Covington.
Jones would later respond to the comments and actions from Covington this week that saw the latter use sexual slurs after being slugged with a boomerang. JonesĀ he is dealing wiāth a potential suspension fź¦°rom USADA after a second failed drug test.
