Chael Sonnen and former UFC Liওght Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell were rumored to be in negot♐iations for a fight in the last few months.
If Sonnen is to be believed, he doe🅷sn't see the fight going down, despite angling for it for several months.
“Nothing. Dead issue. I thought that Chuck was coming back,” Sonnen said to . “I had good reason to believe that. He lost his job. He said he wanted to come back, then he went into the gym. This was my evidence. But I had these three pieces of evidence.”
Sonnen is now moving onto the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix and he meets former UFC Light Heavyweight Champi♎on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the first round at Bellator 192.
Just because the fight is a dead issue doesn’𝔍꧟t mean Sonnen won’t take a few parting shots at his one time potential opponent.
“It’s not easy to be Chuck. You’re broke, you snorted all your money away. It’s not an easy life to live. I don’t need me to kick him while he’s down, either. If he wanted to come back, we could agree to a match and then maybe things would be different. But I think in this setting, I wish him well,” says Sonnen.
Bellator 192 takes place on Saturday, January 20 from The Forum in Inglewood, California with 🍷Douglas Lima and Rory MacDonald headlining. Fightful is providing🌠 live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
