š¶The 22-ā±year old star has her sights set on WWE but is enjoying the ride she is currently on.
In the inauguralĀ Mae Young Classic tournamentĀ that took place last summer Toni Storm fought her way through the stacked field of talent upĀ until she ran into the eventual winner of said tournament Kairi Sane. Storm, at 22-years old has a number of accomplishments under her belt one of which is being the first-ever and current PROGRESS Women's Champion.Ā
During WrestleManišøa weeź¦kend Storm competed in an inter-gender match against Timothy Thatcher and as she told , he did not take it easy on her.
āOne of the hardest matches of my entire life,ā she said. āHe didnāt go easy on me, and heās the nicest person Iāve ever met, heās such a gentleman ā heāll take his hat off when he says hello to you. Heās the loveliest, sweetest person but he didnāt go easy on me whatsoever, which I appreciated. I still do them (inter-gender matches) occasionally, I love doing them, but now itās mostly girls.ā
Storm stated that being a part of the Mae Young Classic was a nerve-racking experience. With all the promos and tapings she had very little time to prepare hersešlf for what was to come.
āThat was nerve-racking. I was out doing all the tapings, all of the interviews and getting ready for it for about 10 days in Orlando,ā she said. āIt was just 10 days of nerves, I was terrified. It was so nerve-racking because itās WWE, itās the top place, itās where Iāve always wanted to be. I nearly had a heart attack.ā
The current wXw Women's Champion shared that getting to WWE has always been herĀ goalš but nonetheless she is enjoying the ride, traveling the world and doing what she loves to do.
āMy goal from the very beginning has been WWE. Itās what Iāve wanted since I was 10,ā she said. āI know that Iāll get there because Iām putting my whole life into this. I have to go there because if I donāt... this is my only option. Thereās no back-up. But Iām enjoying the journey. I get to do the coolest things ever, I get to go to Japan and main event Korakuen Hall. I get to go out there with my best friends who are like family to me. I get to travel to New Orleans, I get to come back here and see everyone that I started with, I get to go everywhere, and thatās the best. People donāt get that. Iām just so blessed.ā
