During the May 1 AEW Dark⛎ tapings at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fl꧒orida. Tony Schiavone announced to Dante Martin that he will be facing Rey Fenix in an Owen Hart Tournament qualifier.
Rey Fenix returned to AEW on Wednesday, April 27th after suffering an injury in the match where he and Penta Oscuro lost t🉐he World Tag Team Championship.
In an interview with Tony Schiavone it was announced that Dante Martin would be facing🌳 Rey Fenix in an Owen Hart cup qualifying match 𒁃in Fenix' first match back.

The official tournament is set to begin one week later in Long Island, New York. So far, Darby Allin, Adam Cole, Samoa Joe, Kyle O'Reilly, and Dax Harwood have qualified. Jeff Hardy and Bobby Fish will also be meeting in a singles match to qualify for the tournament. That match will take place on Wednesday, May 4.
