On the stream, he was playing Valorant with WWE Superstar Cesaro and wê§hen Cesaro asked if he was heading to the gym today, Rusev has confirmed thatđŠ he was on his way out the door when he received word that he has COVID-19.
Rusevâs wife, CJ âLanaâ Perry, confirmed earlier in the week that both of her parents have also tested positive for COVID with Lana sayingđŒ that her mother had to be admitted into the ICU.
Lana would update the world on the condition of her parents, saying that her mom is doing much beđtter and she has bđeen off of oxygen in the hospital for more than 24 hours and is currently out of ICU and may be released from the hotel she was staying in, but Lana would say that she is not out of the woods.
As for her dad, she says he is doing betteđ r as well. There was a period of time where he was bedridden. Initiađ±lly, he thought it was pollen allergies but before they knew it, he took a turn for the worst. With that being said, both of her parents are doing well but Lana is still asking for prayers and positive energy.
Rusev also posted a YouTube video, which appears to have been recorded prior to the beginning of his Twitch stream, about his COVID diagnosis. In thđe video, he would echo a lot of what Lana said about his mother and father-in-law, noting that his father-in-law has lost a lot of weight and asked Rusev for tips on how to bulk up agaà± in.
Rusev would also break doêŠwn his test đŽresults and symptoms. He would note that he started feeling a loss of his sense of taste and smell and he immediately went to get a test.
Rusev says he feels goodđ all things considered and didđ° feel fatigued, but he had initially assumed that it was because of his time at the gym. He says he will be spending his time making more videos for YouTube, streaming for Twitch, and working out in his home gym.
Rusev also says he scheduled a consultation with a physician and is concerned about whether or not he will be able to hđźang out with his dog. All things consideređ„d, Rusev appears to be in good spirits as his fight with COVID begins.
Rusev has mostly been streaming on à”ČTwitch since being released from WWE on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. He is one of the many names that IMPACT Wrestling has teased for their surprise debuts/returns upcoming at Slammiversary on July 18.
