"The Cleaner" has prevailed.
Today, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada reached 720 days as IWGP Heavyweight Champion and in his way of continuing that streak was a rival of his who has taken him to the limit on every occasion that they have met, Kenny Omega. Following Okada's 12th title defense in his current reign as IWGP Heavyweight Champion at 'Wrestling Dontaku', he joked about not having anyone else left to face as he has bested all those who have challenged him thus far. Okada then made the decision to call out Kenny Omega fo🐭r a fourth match between the two but this time around along with the title being on the line there would be no time limit and it would be contested in a 2-Out-Of-3 falls match.
The antic🏅ipation for the match was finally over as Omega and Okada met in the squared circle at 'Dominion'.
The two bulls left every bit of fight they had in the ring. Kazuchika Okada scored the first fall with a roll-up. After the two went for another fifteen to twenty minutes Kenny Omega got a point on the board as he hit Okada with a "One Winged Angel" for a♛ three count.
It then came time to the final moments of the match as the Osaka crowd was ready to see who was going to emerge victorious in this bout. Here's an excerpt from Fightful's live coverage of 'Dominion' by way 🎃of David Tees:
"Omega gets Okada to his knees before landing some more V Triggers, Okada counters a final V Trigger to land a few drop kicks. Okada goes for the Rainmaker and he collapses before landing it, Omega and Okada exchange some strikes in the middle of the ring. Okada nails Omega with a Rainmaker from out of nowhere after the exchange, Okada then hits Omega with a second Rainmaker. Omega counters another Rainmaker to hit Okada with a few German suplexes, Okada counters and he lands his own German suplex on Omega. Omega escapes a Rainmaker to hit Okada with another German suplex followed by a reverse hurricarana, Omega goes for a V Trigger and Okada counters with a drop kick. Okada goes for the Rainmaker and Omega counters by landing a One Winged Angel, Omega crishes Okada with a V Trigger before landing a One Winged Angel for the three count."
After 720 days as the IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kenny Omega was the man to end the reign of "The Rainmaker" as Kenny stood in the ring with the gold around his waist and his friends Kota Ibushi and The Young Bucks by his side. Cody made his way out to the ringside area briefly and just stared at Kenny as he celebrated his historic championship victory. During the post-'Dominion' press conference Kenny Omega announced that along with Kota Ibushi and The Young Bucks, the four men were going to start their own stable 𝓡entitled 🎐'The Golden Elite'.
