The O𝓀bserver noted that the prevailing sentiment is that El Rey would not cancel Lucha Underground, but also that the show has yet to turn a profit -- or even come close. Lucha Underground owners put up enough money to tape three seasons, but no questions about the future of the show or the promotion beyond Seasonꦬ 3 have been answered -- even internally.

Many of the talent with Lucha Underground have signed seven-season contracts. One excepti🅘on to that rule is Prince Puma (aka Ricochet), who will become a free agent once all of Season 3 has aired.

Meanwhile, two Lucha Underground talents -- who also are on AAA's roster -- will be part of Impact Wrestling's Slammiversary pay-per-view this Sunday, July 2. Drago and El Hijo del Fantasma (known as King Cuerno in Lucha Underground) will teamඣ up♊ in a four-way match for the TNA Tag Titles.
