Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
WWE UK champion Pete Dunne spoke to recently about his career, working for the WWE and most importantly, getting to work with The Game himself. As a part of a stable called British Strong Style he, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven have been mimicking Triple H's entrance as of late, and have even used the pedigree and sledgehammer in the past. Dunne said that the inspiration behind this✨ was them developing a more elitist attitude towards PROGRESS.
I think it just came about, it was kind of the angle w🔯e had taken on at PROGRESS at the time, that we thought we were too good for the place and moving on, using PROGRESS as a platform to get to bigger and better things. It just all sort of came from that. The fans seemed to like it and even though they were supposed to hate us, I think a part of them found it funny. It was a bit of fun that we had. And Triple H found it pretty funny himself, so that was pretty cool.
When asked if Triple H had ever mentioned the imitation to him, he said yes. B💮ut Hunter does find the humor in these kind of things:
Yea💮h, he did. The first time he brought it up was pretty intimidating! But he found the humor in it, so it worke✱d out pretty well, ha ha.
Pete Dunne most recently appeared on US television on an episode of NXT where he retained t🔜he UK championship against Wolfgang. He also appeared this past Monday on Raw, where he defeated Cruiserweight 🐈champion Enzo Amore.
