Lita has revealed how much time she was given to prepare for the inaugural Women's Royal Rumble iān 2018.
The WWE Hall Of Famer recently made a comeback in 2022, participating in the Women's Royal Rumble match in January and lasting ten mintues in the match before being eliminated by Charlotte Flair. After that match, Lita went on to unsuccessfully challenge Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch for her title at the Elimination Chamber 2022 pay-per-āview šŖin Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
, Lita talked about how her rushed comeback in 2018 ultimately led to her 2ā¤022 comeback that had more to offer.
āSo, I mean.. the Rumble is fun. [Thatās] undeniable. Watching it and being in it. I did the first one, it was monumental. It was historic. I had to be part of it...but I was asked 24 hours in advance. I had not been training. I had to take a red eye, spending all day in medical getting cleared. The first time I touched a ring since the last time whenever you guys saw me touch a ring was the first time I touched a ring. So, I was nervous in all the wrong ways. I was still glad I did it, there was only gonna be one first [womenās] rumble. I was still happy to see all the women and I ultimately had a good time in my experience [but] when they called me this year I was like āYeah, I want a redo.ā I had a proper heads up and I had been training and my motivation was that itās fun, I get to see my girlfriends and this time I wanna feel good nervous going into it.ā Lita said.
Lita and Lynch became part of a limited group of women that have got to compete in Saudi Arabia at the 2022 event, although Lita has gone on record and said the match was a last-minute decision.
Before her 2022 return, Lita also had talks with All Elite Wrestling. Learn more by clicking here.
