Kurt Angle was working êŠas a producer for WWE following hiâs in-ring retirement at WrestleMania 35, but was released by the company in April 2020.
He returned to serve as thđe special guest referee for the NXT Fight Pit match between Riddle and Timothy Thatcher on May 27, 2020. Angle was planned to be part of WWE Elimination Chamber, but the plans were scrapped.
Speaking to during WrestleMania weekend, Angle said he's turned down ofâfers from WWE and AEW.
"I'm leaving it open," he said about his future in wrestling. "I've gotten offers from both companies [WWE and AEW], didn't accept them, didn't feel it was right at that particular time, but if they come up with something that I feel is worth it, I will do it."
