Kevin Owens thinks WrestleMania 35 helped ROH sell out Madison Square Garź¦den.
On the same weekend as WrestleMania 35, Ring of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling will be hosting G1 Supercard. Former Ring of Honor World Champion Kevin Owensā was asked about the event in with Gorilla Position and he was positive about thriving wrestling companies outside ofą² WWE.
"I think it's great for everyone involved and WWE thrives on competition and it did for a long time. I think healthy competition is great and I think WWE would agree," said Owens. "The fact all these companies are thriving is great for everyone involved. Whether it's wrestler up and coming trying to make a career or wrestlers might eventually leave WWE, it gives them a place to go to," he continued.
Two of Owens best friends from his independent wrestling days are doing their own show in September aź©²long with Cody Rhodes and Owens said their event All In could be considered more impressź¦ive than Ring of Honor and NJPW selling out Madison Square Garden.
"Ring of Honor selling out Madison Square Garden is fantastic, it's unbelievable. But, they are selling it out on WrestleMania weekend," said Owens. "All In was Cody and the Young Bucks' idea. They took it and they ran with it. They made it into something huge. In my opinion All In is almost more impressive than Ring of Honor selling out Madison Square Garden because they did it on their own and there's not a giant wrestling extravaganza that same weekend in the same town," he continued.
Fightful Wrestling will be covering the lead up to G1 Supercard, WrestleMania 35, and All In. The Young Bucks and Cody Rhodes will be hosting All In on September 1st.
