John Cena thought he had nothing to lose when he waved his hand in front of his face and told his opponent, "Youꦬ can't see me."
Appearing on the Graham Norton Show, Cena revealed the origin of his famous hand gesture and how⛄ people joke that he's actually invisible.
"I was dared to do it," recalled Cena. "I was making the music for my own theme song and we played for my brother. The first time he heard it -- 50 Cent had a really popular song 'In Da Club.' He heard it the first time, he was are litmus test to see what songs were good and bad, and he did this (You Can't See Me gesture). I'm like dude, 'What are you doing?' And I guess it was from 50 Cent's video. He's like, 'You won't do it on TV.' 'What the hell do I have to lose? What are they gonna do, fire me? Of course I'll do it on TV' Now, for 15 years, because of a dare, I've been doing (the gesture). And I'll do you one better, people actually think I'm invisible."
