On the latest episode of his podcast, Jerry Lawler addressed the controversy surrounding the Women's Money In The Bank match that took place last Sunday at the MITB pay-perꦉ-view.
Jerry "The King" L൩awler, he of the demented lecherous persona back during the Attitude Era, who was often seen sitting up and begging for "puppies," thinks that the women in the match were disrespected and treated unfairly by the booking.
(It should be noted that this was record🧔ed before SD Live GM Daniel Bryan stripped Carmella of the briefcase and made a rematch for next we💞ek's Smackdown, with James Ellsworth banned from ringside.)
“That’s one thing that disturbed me, and hopefully they will fix that in some kind of way. That’s what WWE has been about. We don’t even call them Divas anymore; it’s the women’s division bꦕecause it’s about empowering women. So much of the emphasis that the WWE has put on the women’s division has done that. That’s why I was disappointed to see, in the first ever, historic Women’s Money in thܫe Bank Ladder Match, that they had to have a man climb the ladder and retrieve the Money in the Bank briefcase. I’m one of (the people who believe the finish was poorly booked).”
