Jeff Jarrett shares his advice for Baron Corbin.
On November 1st, Fightful reported that WWE informed Corbin that they would not be renewing his contract when it expired, so the former King of the Ring winner will be starting a new chꦦapter.
Speaking on his , WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jar꧂rett was asked to comment on what advice he w♑ould have for someone in Corbin's position.
“A gentleman like Baron, love the guy. He’s a professional athlete, so his pedigree speaks for itself in volumes. But social media’s his best friend, or it can be your worst enemy. But you have an immediate connection. People don’t click on and say, ‘I’m gonna follow, just as an example Baron Corbin, because I hate the guy.’ No, I’m gonna follow him, I have at least a mild interest. Okay, figure out those to create that funnel, and that funnel is to cultivate that audience. So get a strategy. You fail to plan, you are planning to plan. So get a plan in place, and part of that plan may be, let’s recalibrate and figure out what the next step is. But a guy with his athletic ability, with his name value, with the amount of different places to work, in Japan, in Mexico, as we talked [about], the Middle East, there’s a lot of opportunity out there. Is he gonna make the money of WWE? I would not look at the first 12 months and say, ‘Hey man, my 1099 has to be this amount.’ To me, he is starting fresh in the Baron Corbin business. He is no longer under that umbrella. So when you’re starting a startup business, what do you gotta do? I’ve gotta invest in this. I’ve gotta my time, I’ve certainly gotta invest my talent, and I probably gotta invest some dollars, and I would look at it as such," Jarrett said.
Corbin recently agreed with a fan who said that WWE fumbled the bag by letting him go. More information is available here.
