MLW has signed a reigning champion to a contract.
has learned that MLW Women's World Featherweight Champion Janaಌi Kai has signed with MLW. Kai has had a successful run in MLW up to this point; she debuted at MLW Slau🌳ghterhouse 2023, where she beat Delmi Exo to win the title. Kai has been the face of the women's division ever since, as she has defended the title against Exo, Unagi Sayaka, and other competitors. Kai is also a member of Contra Unit.
There is no word on the ter🎉ms of Kai's contract with MLW.
Before joining MLW, Kai wrestled for various companies on the in🍎dependent scene, including GCW, Beyond, and Prestige. Kai has also competed for TJPW. Additionally, she has wrestled for AEW a few times, including a match against Jade Cargill on AEW Rampage in 2021.
Kai was also recently backstage at AEW, and a deal with MLW was worked out ꦬshortly after. Kai will defend her MLW Featherweight Title against Stardom's HANAKO at MLW Summer of 🍎the Beasts on August 29, which airs live on Youtube from New York.
