Ian Riccaboni's role in Ring of Honor goes beyond being an announcer, and puts over the company's stars being a top 🍌content provider outside of having w🔜restling matches.
The current Ring of Honor play-by-play color commentator talk🐈ed to Fightful abo🐽ut the additional roles he has within the company, and also discusses how Ring of Honor creates a positive environment for creative ideas to be made:
"I do produce a lot of the web content right now," Riccaboni said. "That’s a role I started in. I do produce a lot of web articles, I write them. I love to write, I love to contribute in that way. I do have a bit of a hand in the videos that you do see, but it’s very minimal, on our YouTube page. In those ways, I’m maybe not as involved as say Joey Styles was in ECW or maybe currently Jeremy Borash. You may be surprised as to who is involved and who may have a say in the direction that we’re going. It’s a great environment to foster that creativity. Some of our best television and pay-per-view events were driven by Ring of Honor and how nice of a creative environment it is."
Riccaboni said the Bullet Club has been an incredible provider of online content for the promotion, especially with their . One specific example Riccaboni brought up was Bullet Club member Hangman Page, who was i♐n a storyline on the YouTube show that eventually made it into Ring of Honor storyl🐲ines:
"I think the big example is Adam Page, who mysteriously disappeared and seemingly returned back from the dead at Death Before Dishonor. I’ll say this about Nick and Matt Jackson, Cody, Adam and Brandi, the whole Being The Elite crew. They always let me know when there is a new [BTE episode]. One of the ways Ring of Honor can continue to grow is stuff like Bullet Club having their merchandise at Hot Topic. Why not talk about that? Being the Elite is a big YouTube series. Why not talk about that? We have this great relationship with New Japan, CMLL, RevPro. When our stars compete there, we want to make sure we have content for our websites, our Twitter and Instagram. To highlight that, we need to show that our star are competing around the world and in many cases, winning the big matches. We need to show the world that everything in wrestling matters," Riccaboni told Fightful.
"The List & Ya Boy," hosted by Fightful managing editor Sean Ross Sapp and Fightful owner Jimmy🤪 Van, can be seen live on YouTube and on Fightful every Wednesday at 3 p.m. E🌳T. Riccaboni's comments can be seen in the video above.
