Deonna Purrazzo says her NXT try-out was unique.
In 2015, Deonna Purrazzo appeared on NXT a couple times before she went through an actual try-out. On Fightful Wrestling's podcast , Purrazzo discussed the experience of getting a try-out after already♌ performing at NXT.
"It was a bit of a weird situation for me, because I had already worked at NXT quite a few times before I had been given a try-out. I knew a lot of coaches, the trainers, and a lot of the superstars that run the camp and help out with it. It was a unique situation because I felt...I don't want to say comfortable, but I didn't really have anything to prove. They had seen everything I had. I think it was a bit more of a formality because I had been on their programing for months," said Purrazzo.
After her first NXT match is when she was told she would be getting a for🥃mal trꦺy-out.
"I wrestled Nia Jax at NXT my very first time. Right after, they were like 'hey, we're going to give you a try-out, you should receive information in the next few weeks.' It kind of happened in person for me. But I think typically you'd get an email saying 'we invite you, stay tuned for a formal invitation.' But for me it was like 'you're going to do this,'" said Purrazzo.
Podcast host Sean Ross Sapp asked Purrazzo about the Mae Young Classic. Purrazzo could not confirm if she was participating in the tournament or not but spoke highly of it. She admitted she was excited to see it regardless of being a participant or not. Outside of WWE, Purrazzo has wrestled all over the world. The twenty-three-year-old has wrestled for Impact Wrestling, WWE, NXT, Ring of Honor, and STARDOM in Japan.
Also on the podcast, Purrazzo discussed the infamous La Luchadora. She would only say La Luchadora was revealed to be Mickie James on 𝐆t༒elevision and denied ever being in the mask.
