Câody has his sights set on becoming the best in the world and that starts at 'Best In The World'.
"The American Nightmare" Cody has a busy few months ahead of him. In two weeks he will be involved in a Triple-Threat match at Ring Of Honor's 'Best In The World' PPV on June 29th. The following week after that Cody will be challenging Kenny Omega for Kenny's newly-won IWđ GP Heavyweight Championship in the main event ofàČ NJPW's G1 Special show at the 'Cow Palace', and two months after that Cody will be challenging for the NWA Worldsđ„ Heaê§vyweight Championship and possibility defending the ROH World Title at he and The Young Bucks' self-financed show 'All In' on September 1st.
It is one step at a time for Cody and his journey begins on June 29th with the ROH World Title inêŠ his sights. While speaking to of Cody sâtated that he has been over-training for the Triple-Threat match between Marty Scurll, the champion Dalton Castle, and himself.
âI overtrained for Final Battle and Dalton Castle,â said Rhodes. âNot unlike George Foreman in Zaire. Iâve learned to balance more. Thereâs something to learn from Kennyâs one match a month schedule. Like him or not, heâs able to properly prepare mentally and physically, and to maintain his body.â
Cody went on to share his thoughts on his opponents in the ROH World Title match. Cody revealed that the reasoning for Dalton Castle's title reign being what fans have dubbed as "lackluster" is due to the naggingđ injuries that Castle has been battling through. As far as Marty Scurll goes Cody considers his fellow 'Bullet Club' member a brother but neither of his opponents will stop him from becoming the top guy in ROH once again.
âI could lie to you about Dalton Castle or I could play coy,â said Rhodes. âDalton is competing with a very serious injury. Critics writing off his title run as a flop donât understand the grit heâs displayed in that role. But, compliments aside, thatâs the difference between me and everybody else: I canât be hurt. I canât be injured. Iâm bulletproof, Iâm championship material." He continued, "I think Marty being included in this match is wonderful,â said Rhodes. âHe supersedes the âjuniorâ qualification. He has a great fan base, but Marty is Prince Lotor, he sits at my table, but doesnât eat first. I do. Daddy eats first.â
