Charlotte will be looking to add to her legacy.
Two episodes ago on SmackDown Live, the current SmackDown Live Women's Champion Carmella's trash-talk got her in a bit of trouble with the SmackDown GM Paige. Paige decided to put Carmella in a match with a returning Charlotte Flair who was out nursing an injury and the match between Charlotte and Carmella had SummerSlam implications tied to it. If Carmella lost the match then Charlotte was going to be added to the already scheduled SmackDown Live Women's ⛦Title m🍌atch at SummerSlam between Becky Lynch and Carmella.
Carmella tapped out to the "Figure-Eight" and the match was soon converted into a Triple-Threat. Charlotte will now join Becky Lynch and Carmella෴ as they will look t൲o put on a show at the Barclays Center on August 19th. Charlotte recently spoke with of about WWE's live event one day after SummerSlไam and Charlotte possibly walking into that very live event as an eight-time WWE Women's Champion.
“Yeah, the match Tuesday against the IIconics, I really felt in my groove. I think I wasn’t expecting to be in the title picture for SummerSlam." Charlotte shared. "I think having the opportunity, and then also facing Carmella and getting her back because she beat me twice, and then obviously facing my best friend friend. Whether she wins or I win, I always like being in the ring with her. She always makes me raise my game. So yeah, I’m just so focused on SummerSlam. It’s a short time before the event so I just want to make sure I’m back in shape. I missed SummerSlam last year so it’s just crazy to think that it’s been a year since then. My dad got sick last year and then just making it back in time. I’m excited, especially with SummerSlam. It’s a mini-WreslteMania. To be on the card is an honor. Had I not won the match (against Carmella) I would have been so disappointed.”
There was a bit of uncertainty in the eyes of Charlotte's best-friend Becky Lynch this past Tuesday on SmackDown Live. To find out why, head over to Fightful's cover🌞age of the August 7th edition of the blue-brand exclusive show.
