It wasn't hard for Bobby Roode to leave TNA, but that’s not a reflection on his time with the promotion.
The WWE talent talked to and discussed his departure from the rival promotion. He didn’t have anything negative to say about that company -- Roode just thought it was time to move on.
“I was treated extremely well there for 12 years and financially I was taken care of. Honestly, it was just time for me to go. I never really got into this industry for the money although it's nice. I've been able to make a career and support my family for the last 12 years doing what I love to do. But that was just it,” Roode said.
In his last few years with TNA, things changed for Roode. He felt📖 different about the company he had been with for 10 ꦰplus years.
“The last two years of that company, I didn't love it any more. I started to lose my passion which was concerning to me. I didn't like being away. I didn't liꦑke performing. TNA became a place where it was just a televisꦰion product and I got into this business to perform and be on the road,” Roode said.
Now 39 and in a different stage in his career, Roode wanted a new opportunity, a new challenge. NXT and WWE, to him,💦 are just that.
"I think that this was the right time. I gue𓃲ss, looking back, who knows if I should have came earlier, if I had the opportunity to come earlier. I think that everything happens for a reason and I think WWE and myself felt like this was the time and so far, so good," Roode said.
Roode can be seen Wednesday nights on NXT on WWE Network.
