With several names leaving Ring of Honor 🦄in recent months, Bobby Fish retains his spot🥀 as one of the key cogs of the company. Just a few days before ROH's 15th Anniversary PPV, he spoke to
Fish has been a longtime partner of former🥂 ROH Champion Kyle O'Reilly. Despite the exit of O'Reilly, Fish said that he saw the move coming, and the two remain close.
"We've always been in contact about every move he or I have made or have not made between myself, Kyle and and George Carroll (a former Ring of Honor executive who now is with New Japan). The three of us have operated as a trio, as a think tank when it came to anything he or I were doing. I've been pretty aware of everything each step of the way. He could say the thing for me. I wasn't surprised, but understand that we were all on the same page when the decisions that have been made were made. But I also will say that all the decisions haven't been made. We've made some early decisions and now here we are." said Fish.
Now seen as one of the veterans of the company, Fish has transitioned completely into a singles talent. He mentioned that he never envisioned a scenario where he and O'Reilly wouldn't be partners, evꦗen if singles success came along.
"It’s always been there for both of us. I never saw us not tagging, but saw things like the TV title and world title and anything individually as being in addition. The tag team would always be there. It’s too good to not pick that back up. … I don’t feel like either of us considered ourselves only tag team specialists. We definitely always had aspirations that weren’t team oriented," Fish said.
Fish came up short in his attempt to capture the ROH title last weekend at Manhattan Mayhem, and will take on Jay Lethal at ROH 15th Anniversary from Las Vegas this Friday. Fightful will hไave full, live coverage of the show.
