The Big Show Reveals Hip Surgery Complications, Out Another 6-8 Months

Big Show was hoping to ♚come back earlier this year, but surgery comp💮lications have pushed a return to the ring back.

He talked to Busted Open Radio about the ordeal, which you can hear about above. It started when he had a hip resurfacing surgery in September. He started to feel good, e♐ven walking a mile after three weeks. But complications soon 💯started to emerge.

Bryan Danielson: I Wonder What Would Happen If We Tried To Nuke The Sun. Probably Nothing, Right?

"Things started to feel good, then I got a fever," he said. "I found out I had a surgical infection. I guess, more I find out about these metal implants, it’s quite high to get an infection. I just got the unlucky draw. The hospital, I had it done in New York, is one of the top in the world for least amount of surgical infections. They had to cut me open again, take it out, clean it, flush it, etc. If the infection had stayed got any worse, they would have to cut the metal pieces out, put in what they call a cement joint for 3 months, take that joint out and then do a full on hip replacement, which would have ended my career."

He ended up doing an aggressive cleaning regimen, using a PICC line that required him using an IV for 8 hours a day and caused him to have a very weird sleep schedule. With all of this trouble, Big ꦍShow's return has been set back another 6-8 months. Despite the setback, Big Show still feels that he has a lot to give in the business𒐪.

"There's always something to do in our business" he said. "The business is ever evolving. I have a lot to still contribute. For the younger talent, simple things, maybe in ring poise, out of ring poise, treating yourself like a brand. Those kids are amazing with social media but there's a certain way to carry yourself like a star."

6-8 months would put him at a return around October at the earliest. He has been out of action since September, when Braun Strowman threw him into the cage, breaking it and sending him to🐬 the floor.
