UFC Fight Night Highlights: Jamahal Hill Outslugs Thiago Santos

For only the second time in modern UFC history, the judges weren't needed on the night, as every fight had a stoppage. That being said, not alot of the action was very high level, and the card was a bit of a dud. Anyway, check all the highlights after thšŸ’¦e jump.

Jamahal Hill def. Thiago Santos via TKO (Punches) (Rd. 4 2:31)

Frank Tate's Dog Gives A Top Tier High Five

In a fight that wš’ƒas a bit of a sloppy mess, Jamahal Hill was able to weather the takedowns of Thiago Santos over the first three rounds, and then put him out once he was exhausted in the fourth round. Hill continued his march up the division, but Santos really looks like a different fighter after his knee injuries.

Geoff Neal def. Vicente Luque via TKO (Uppercuts) (Rd. 3 2:01)

In easily the best fight of the night, Geoff Neal put on the best performance of his career and became the first man to stop Vicente Luque with a seriesšŸ’ of uppercuts in the third round. Neal came out looking outstanding in the first round, then seemed to take a step back in the second before coming out in the third šŸ”“like a house of fire. Outstanding bout, and Neal called out Gilbert Burns in his post-fight interview, which would be excellent.

Mohammed Usman def. Zach Pauga via TKO (Punches) (Rd. 2 0:36)

Kamaru Usman's brother is now in the UFC as Mohammed won the TUF tournament with an incredible KO from a short hook. Zach Pauga started the fight very well, easily out pacing Usman in the first, but Usman shut his lights out with a baby left hook that landed right on the button. After follow up hammeš“°r fists he was the winner.

Julianna Miller def. Brogan Walker-Sanchez via TKO (Elbows) (Rd. 3 3:58)

In a pretty low level fight, Julianā™Œna Miller won the TUF finale and a UFC contract. Brogan Walker managed to do a decent job at range, but couldn't control the range and Miller was able to get tź¦”akedowns in every round, and control the fight from there. This fight wasn't very good.

Sergey Spivak def. Augusto Sakai via TKO (Punches) (Rd. 2 3:42)

Sergey Spivak used overwhelming wrestling to grind dowšŸŒŠn Augusto Sakai. He used a variety of trips and takedoą¼ŗwns to control most of the fight from top position, and got the finish.

Terrance McKinney def. Erick Gonzalez via Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) (Rd. 1 2:17)

Terrance McKinš“€ney showed no ill effects from the loss in his last fight, and showed he's still a serious name on the rise.

Michał Oleksiejczuk def. Sam Alvey via TKO (Punches) (Rd. 1 1:56)

Its just baffling why Sam Alvey is in the UFC at this point. He hasn't won since 2018, and his continued employment makes very little sense. That being said, Oleksiejczuk just wrecked him with early pressure and some heavy overhands got Herb Dean to step in. Can this finally be the end of Alvey, pleą¹„ase?

Bryan Battle def. Takashi Sato via KO (Head Kick) (Rd. 1 0:44)

Didn't take long, and you could probably hear the head kick that Bryan Battled iced TakasšŸ¼hi Sato with from your house. Picture perfect killšŸŒ„ shot.

Cori McKenna def. Miranda Granger via Submission (Von Flue Choke) (Rd. 2 1:03)

Cori McKenna overcame an imposing 10 inch reach disadvantage to overwhelm Miranda GšŸ¦„ranger with her grappling and get thšŸ’e tap early in the 2nd round. Good tenacious wrestling by McKenna to overcome the size discrepancy, but very poor grappling shown from Granger.

Marya Bueno Silva def. Stephanie Egger via Submission (Armbar) (Rd. 1 1:17)

In a strange one, Marya Bueno Silva secured a nasty inverted armbar on Stephanie Egger, and released the hold when she felt her opponent tap. Unfortunately the referee couldn't see the tap, as it was blocked by the fighters. After the judges were polled, one of theā–Øm declared he saw the tap, and the fight was called off. An odd one to start the night off, and not a good look for Egger.
